What a great night we had at Hubbub in Vancouver for the launch of the new “Mike Janyk” We had a packed house from all around the ski racing community, coaches, friends, family, athletes and supporters. The response has been amazing from everyone since I showcased my video http://vimeo.com/30464395 Thank you everyone for your great comments. Now obviously one of the main goals of all of this is to find a great sponsor and I’m sure that will come. But right now, only a couple days since the launch, I’m very proud of what I (with help) have successfully achieved this summer to create this website, Logo, video and event. I could not have done it without great help from Jarrod Banadyga and my friends at Hubbub sandwich shop, Stefan and Ben. Last Thursday night’s event really solidified my feelings going into this season. To really embrace my opportunity to go out and win on the world cup! Honestly, I’ve never felt like I’ve had such a strong team around me. Cousi, Trevor, and Brad, all these guys can ski fast enough to win and I love how much we’re pushing each other in training. I feel there will be something special for all of us this year.

I just landed in Europe today, heading to the Uvex factory in Germany to pick out my helmet and goggles for the year. I’ll tweet some colours out tomorrow, see what you guys thing. I’m then off to Saas Fee glacier in Switzerland to hit some gates. I look forward to some more successful memories this season just like the other night!
