As so many of you know after spending a winter ski season in cold weather and snow there’s nothing like getting to a beach for some place hot weather, relaxing fun and lots of sun. This year I went to Sayulita, Mexico, definitely recommend this spot. My April was filled with a lot of skiing; the 20th annual Whistler Cup, Heli skiing, a great charity event in mammoth with some powder skiing, ski testing some new rossignol slalom skis in Kamloops, then to finish off the month Manny and I held our 5th annual Mike and Manny cowboys ski camp home in Whistler. It was super busy, lots of travel, tons of skiing, and for the first time in the last 6 years I did not burn out out during that time, after my World Cup season. Normally I just “survive” April doing one commitment after the other and I can’t wait to just escape. This year I enjoyed every moment of my last month and I got to have awesome experiences… but of course I was still looking forward to getting to beach.

My first days down here I caught up on a lot of sleep, nothing like 10+ hours a night with multiple naps in the day. Add in 30 degree weather, some surf, a little sun burn and I feel ready to be back in the lab at the University of Calgary on Monday for physical testing. Well my mind is ready, my body on the other hand my not like the shock of bike testing.
Good times down here with the man, the legend @nickcoopski (He’s the guy on the far right, I don’t know how he knows so much about skiing.)
